077 – Environmental effects of anaesthetics with Dr Chris Mitchell

Hi Everyone,

This week I am joined on the show with a new guest, consultant anaesthetist Dr Chris Mitchell. Chris is a colleague who also used to work with us at our women’s hospital and is already famous for his range of USS regional anaesthesia needles (now manufactured by pajunk). Today we discuss the issue of the adverse environmental effects of our profession. In particular we focus on anaesthetic gases and what we can do to make a difference.

  1. Hi, I listened to this a while ago, and I was wondering if I could find out more about recycling syringes. I’m an anaesthetist in Bendigo, Victoria and I am working on various aspects of environmental sustainability in my department. Would it be ok to get Chris’ contact details? Or I’m happy for mine to be passed on to him. Thanks and thanks also for the podcasts – I find them very helpful.
